I am a sociologist conceptualizing the material displacement of human subjectivity. My work operates at the 2020 Material Rubicon—the historical moment when human-made synthetic mass officially eclipsed all organic biomass on Earth.
Through the New Technology Approach (NTA), I fuse constructivist and empirical social science to observe how the organic fold of human life is being flattened by computational and bureaucratic strata. My mission is to determine what humanity can do to resist this flattening.
Beyond the classroom, I advocate for a “University Trust” model of technology—a civic infrastructure prioritizing Data Dignity and reflective dialogue over extractive capital. My research and public speaking empower communities to navigate the friction between biological time and the nanosecond scales of institutional power.
